Everything a household juggles

Built for the way families actually live

Not another notes app. Hearth understands groceries have quantities, events have guests, and someone always forgets the bread.

Smart groceries

Buying and At-home in one view. Check off at the store, it moves to your pantry stock. Star it at home, it's back on the list.

Events, no accounts

Baby showers, potlucks, wish lists. Invite friends straight from the app, or send a link to everyone else. Add the address and it opens in Maps. Guests RSVP and claim what they're bringing — no sign-up, surprise intact.

Shopping mode

Tap "I'm shopping" and the family knows. Last-minute adds reach you in the aisle; progress lives on your Lock Screen.

Recipes → list

Search thousands of recipes, tap one, and the ingredients pour straight into your grocery list. Or paste any recipe link.

Every kind of list

Movies, games, books, packing. Posters and covers attach themselves. Reminders, photos, and links on anything.

Family controls

Assign items with a friendly nudge. Set daily limits or approvals for kids. See everyone's lists in one place.

Share what you love

Publish a list and anyone can save their own copy and make it theirs. Follow the people whose taste you trust. Everything stays private until you choose otherwise.

Friends and messages

Follow someone and have them follow you back — now you're friends. Friends are the only people who can message you. Mute or delete any conversation.

Social

Your lists, if you want them seen

Hearth started as a family app and it still is. Social is a room you walk into on purpose — not a switch someone else flips for you.

1
Nothing is public until you pick a handle Until then nobody outside your own groups can find you, follow you, or message you at all.
2
Publishing is one list at a time Your other lists stay private. We strip out who added what and everyone's checkmarks before it goes out.
3
Follow back, and you're friends That's the only way someone can message you. Unfollow or block and it ends immediately.

Questions

Quick answers

Is Hearth free?

Yes. Hearth is free to download and use, with no ads — it's built by a family, for families.

Do event guests need an account?

No. Guests tap your link, type a name, and claim items right in the browser or app. Accounts are only for people who want their own lists.

How does the family sync work?

Create or join a group with a 6-letter invite code. Every shared list updates live on everyone's phones — add, check off, or assign from anywhere.

Is the social side optional?

Completely. Social is off until you choose a public handle — until then nobody outside your own groups can see you, follow you, or message you. Your lists stay private even after that: publishing is a separate choice you make one list at a time, and you can unpublish or leave Social whenever you like.

Who can message me?

Only friends — people you follow who also follow you back. Nobody else can start a conversation with you, and blocking or unfollowing ends it straight away. You can also mute or delete any conversation from your side.

What happens when I publish a list?

Anyone can see it and save their own copy to edit however they want. Before it goes out we remove who added each item, who it was assigned to, private notes, and everyone's checkmarks. Unpublishing stops new copies, but copies people already made are theirs to keep.

Should my kid use Social?

Our advice: don't give a child's account a handle. Without one they can't be found, followed, or messaged by anyone outside your own groups, and the rest of Hearth works exactly the same. Handles, names, and comments are screened, and anything can be reported or blocked — but the simplest protection is not switching it on.

What about my data?

Your lists belong to your family. We don't sell data or run ads, and you can delete your account and everything with it inside the app, any time.

Android or web version?

Hearth is iPhone-first today. Event guests on any device can already join through the browser link — full web and Android are on the wishlist.
