Report something

Every public list, comment, and profile can be reported from inside the app — open it, tap the … menu, and choose Report. You can block anyone from their profile, which hides you from each other and ends any messaging.

We review reports and act on them, typically within 24 hours. To report something outside the app, or to appeal a decision, email us and include a link or a screenshot.

COMMON QUESTIONS

How do family groups work?

Create a group in the Family tab and share the invite code — everyone with the code sees shared lists.

What are event lists?

Gift-registry-style lists for showers, weddings, and parties. Guests join through a link — no account needed — and claim items. Who claimed what stays hidden.

How do reminders work?

Open any item's details and set a one-time or repeating reminder. It fires as a notification and shows on the family calendar.

What does "Find on Amazon" do?

It opens an Amazon search for that item so you can buy it quickly. As an Amazon Associate, Hearth may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases — the price never changes for you.

What is the social side, and is it optional?

It is optional and it is off until you choose a public handle. Until then nobody outside your own groups can find you, follow you, or message you. Picking a handle makes your name, photo, and bio visible to other Hearth users — your lists stay private until you publish one, which is a separate choice you make per list.

Who can send me messages?

Only friends — people you follow who also follow you back. Nobody else can start a conversation. Blocking or unfollowing ends it immediately. You can mute a conversation, mark it unread, or delete it from your inbox at any time.

What happens when I publish a list?

Anyone can see it and save their own copy to edit as they like. We first remove who added each item, who it was assigned to, private notes, and everyone's checkmarks. Unpublishing stops new copies, but copies people already saved stay with them.

Can I change my username or handle?

Your username can be changed any time in Edit profile — it is the same name your groups see. Your handle can be changed once every 30 days, and releasing it lets someone else take it. Both are screened, and names or handles that target people are not allowed.

Should my child use the social side?

We recommend not giving a child's account a handle. Without one they cannot be found, followed, or messaged by anyone outside your own groups, and every other part of Hearth works the same. Parental controls (daily limits and approval before items are added) are in the Family tab.

How do I leave the social side?

You tab → Edit profile → Leave social. Your profile disappears, your public lists become private again, and your handle is released. Your lists themselves are untouched.

How do I delete my account?

You tab → Danger zone → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and everything you created. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
